What’s your YWAM story: 18 years ministering in a city I swore I’d never live in after living three months in Amsterdam, my favorite little city in the world. Before my DTS I was tech support for the largest computer repair facility in the country.
Hobbies: Bicycling, guitar, growing old.

What do you do here at YWAM Las Vegas: I am the director of the Discipleship Training Program (DTS)
What’s your YWAM story: We have served with Ywam Uganda and South Africa; we are passionate about sharing the gospel and walking alongside others into discipleship focused on a deepening relationship with God.
Hobbies: Cars, race cars, driving, soccer, fishing and watching action movies

From: I went to college in Virginia, so I’m most recently from there. But I grew up in South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Texas, Kentucky, and Virginia.
Family: I have one of each kind: a brother, a sister, a mom, and a dad. Oh yes, and a new puppy named Samuel Winston who lives with my family.
What do you do here at YWAM Las Vegas: I am the leader of a wonderful ministry called Foster Connect that supports and connects the Christian foster/adoptive families.
What’s your YWAM story: I finished my DTS with the orphan care track in January ’15. I met Ray and Clare Biggerstaff (founders of FC) during my DTS and realized I had to come back and work with this ministry.
What is your favorite part of Las Vegas? I love the lights of the city at night.
Family: I come from divorce, so I have four wonderful parents! I have two brothers and one sister who are all younger than me.
What do you do here at YWAM Las Vegas: I am on staff with the incredible Foster Connect, which gives support practically, spiritually and emotionally to foster/adoptive families in Las Vegas. I love what I get to do here at YWAM Vegas!
What’s your YWAM story? My YWAM story starts years before I ended up with YWAM Vegas. While I am originally from Indiana, I spent a few of my awkward preteen years in Las Vegas. After spending two years in Las Vegas I left and intended to never come back! However, God had other plans and I came to Las Vegas for my DTS in January 2015. By the end of my DTS, Vegas felt like home and I knew God was asking me to come back and join staff with Foster Connect! I am so glad that God does not listen to me when I say never because I love living here and I am living out my dream working with Foster Connect!
What is something we don’t know about you? I once was in the play Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory as an oompa loompa, which is the extent of my acting career!
What’s your favorite part of Las Vegas: My favorite part of Las Vegas is getting to look outside and see the mountains every day.
Hobbies? I love to read! Give me a good book and I’ll be content for hours!
From: I am from Minnesota, USA and my wife, Eliangela is from Belo Horizonte, Brazil
Family: I met my wife in YWAM in Brazil in 2005 when we led an outreach together to the Amazon rain forest. We got married in 2008 and headed to India. She has an administration and staff development background and is currently studying to get her degree in social work. We have two daughters, Olivia and Naomi.
What do you do here at YWAM Las Vegas: I am the director and am in charge of the website, promotions, and a variety of other things.
What’s your YWAM story: After graduating from Minnesota State University in 2004 with a degree in psychology, I did a Discipleship Training School in Denver, Colorado. I spent 3 years as a missionary in Brazil and other parts of South America and about four total years in North India. I conducted a training in YWAM called the Apostolic Catalyst Training School (ACTS) which trains individuals and teams in best practices in pioneering new ministries throughout the world. These schools have now occured in India, Mexico, US, and South Africa with about 25 new ministries being pioneered. The Lord led me to come back to Las Vegas to become the director in May of 2013.
What is something we don’t know about you? Martin – I am a musician (not defined by technical ability), an athlete (not defined by athletic prowess), and an author of many unpublished works.
What is your favorite thing about Las Vegas? Biking season never ends!

Family: I am the youngest of 4 children. My mother Louise and father Steve, my brother Chris, and 2 sisters, Kathy and Mary. Our family also includes 2 dogs, Lillie and Daisy and my fluffy cat, Jack.
What do you do here in YWAM Las Vegas: I am helping to pioneer our anti human trafficking ministry!
YWAM Story: I was studying Graphic Design and Photography when I learned about human trafficking. My heart was so broken for this issue that I started praying and asking God what I could do and didn’t stop until he answered. I prayed for two years saying “Jesus, I cannot just sit here while this is happening to people around the world, what can I do?” He replied, “You want to do something? Ok, here’s what I want you to do: start a ministry that creates homes and healing for victims of human trafficking.” I said “Ok, let’s do it!” So I left school the Lord opened the door and provided all the funds for me to attend my DTS here at YWAM Las Vegas. This forever changed my life! I then attended the ACTS (Apostolic Catalyst Training School) at YWAM Idaho where I learned how to pioneer a ministry from the ground up. Then just a few months later I felt the Lord calling me to join the staff here at YWAM Las Vegas to help pioneer our anti-human trafficking ministry.

What’s your YWAM story: Vacheral completed her DTS at YWAM Las Vegas in August 2014. Although her original focus was on orphan care she has also participated in ADTS outreach and local Mission Adventures outreaches.
Hobbies: I used to be an elementary school music teacher
Favorite part of Las Vegas: Definitely the mountains!

Family: I have two older brothers, an older sister, mother, and father. Two of my siblings are married; my sister and her husband have 2 young sons.
What do you do here at YWAM Las Vegas: I work mainly with the D.T.S. especially the Abolishment of Human Trafficking track focus. It is my passion to see women freed from this environment.
What’s your YWAM story: I was trying to figure out what God wanted me to do with my life and someone mentioned YWAM. I’d never seriously thought about being a missionary but I looked into the YWAM program and found the Abolitionist D.T.S. 2 months later I flew out to Las Vegas and fell in love with the people and really gained a heart for what they were doing. After completing my D.T.S. I came back on staff and wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
Hobbies: I would have to say Mount Charleston or Red Rock. I love hiking the areas and seeing the amazing views.
What do you do here at YWAM Las Vegas: I am part of the DTS staff and enjoy leading international outreaches.
What is your YWAM story: After doing my DTS here in Vegas in August of 2014, I felt led to come immediately back and join DTS staff.
How do you like your coffee: I don’t like coffee, but I’ll always drink chai tea!
Hobbies: I love to be outside! I enjoy swimming and going to the mountains. I like to play piano and am trying to learn how to play guitar!
Family: I have an amazing family: my parents, an older brother, and younger sister.

What’s your YWAM story: After graduating high school I wanted to learn more about God and care for orphans. So in January of 2015 I did my DTS here in Las Vegas. Then in January 2016 I joined staff. I love it here and am so blessed to be here.

What’s your YWAM story: I received my call into missions in 2011 after a mission trip to Haiti. It wasn’t until 2015 God called me to do a DTS in Vegas, I felt lead to come back on staff.
Favorite part of Las Vegas: The mountains and all the Vegas lights at night!
Hobbies: Love playing soccer, fishing, and a lot of other outdoor activities!

What’s your YWAM story: I came first as a Mission Adventures Student and loved it. So much so, that I felt God calling me to hop on a plane a week later and immediately come back to do a prayer and worship internship for three more weeks. i went on to spent another summer here as an MA summer staff. I wanted so badly to do a Discipleship Training School. After years of prayer, God told me I could do my Discipleship Training School near the end of my time studying at Arizona Christian University. A few months later, I’m on DTS staff while I finish my degrees online.
Hobbies: I love to watch documentaries. Does that count as a hobby?
What is your favorite part of Las Vegas? It’s a three way tie between China Town, the Bellagio Fountains and the thrifts stores.
What is something that we don’t know about you? Before God called me to missions, I wanted to go to college to be theater teacher/director. I love theater!

Family: I have an older sister, a younger half brother and four step siblings.
Tell us your YWAM story: I did my DTS in Idaho in 2008, during my DTS I spent a week with YWAM Las Vegas on a mission trip. I went on outreach to India, when I returned I went to back home to work for a few months then joined summer staff with YWAM Vegas for Mission Adventures; I joined staff that fall. I was on staff for three years. In August 2012 I left staff and joined a sales company, moved to Seattle. I returned to Las Vegas October 2014 and just came back on staff in September 2015.
Hobbies: Reading, watching movies, exercise, and soon I’m going to learn how to unicycle
What is something we don’t know about you? I learned to drive stick in a 1979 Volkswagen Rabbit
What is your favorite part of Las Vegas Bellagio fountains, pinball hall of fame, the dollar theatre and Red Rocks Canyon

What do you do here at YWAM Las Vegas: I work in a variety of settings related to discipleship and I am in charge of finances.
What’s your YWAM story: I did my DTS at the Tema community 12 YWAM base, Ghana in 2007. I served at the same base in 2008 in discipleship and worked as a receptionist. I applied to come as full time staff to Las Vegas years ago and my visa was finally approved in the summer of 2013.
Hobbies: Playing soccer and walking at the beach.
What is something we don’t know about you? I love dogs. I have a family of four beautiful and aggressive dogs named; Kora, Peggy, Scout and Simba.

What is something we don’t know about you? If I don’t want to get off the phone with someone I’ll keep asking irrelevant questions until they just absolutely need to go. Also, I may have revived a baby lizard one time using CPR.
